Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a Special Education Generalist for students ages 18-21 in our Transition Program beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. Must have or be eligible to receive a Colorado teacher license with a Special Education Generalist endorsement. Must be able to develop and modify curriculum to meet needs of individual students. Teach lessons on a regular basis on transition topics including life skills, post-secondary planning, self determination, work based skills, resumes/ applications/ interviewing skills. This position will collaborate with community businesses to establish work experience and job shadowing opportunities. Must also be eligible for a district driver license. Must be able to collaborate with IEP teams to write meaningful transition plans, determine post-secondary goals and transition services, and/or serve as a resource to special education case managers. This position is full-time (1.0 FTE) with full benefits. In order to be considered for this position you must complete the online application as soon as possible. Exact placement on the pay schedule will be determined by the Director of Human Resources upon contracting. This pay range is based on education and experience levels with a range of $44,000-$71,866. As a guideline, we offer up to 16 years of previous contractual teaching experience for a placement of Step 17, per school board policy. The current teacher pay schedule can be found on our website. Full-time employees, employed at least thirty hours per week, of Lewis-Palmer School District are eligible for health insurance plans that include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Lewis-Palmer does provide one plan that is of no cost to the individual. However, employees may choose from a selection of plans that include coverage additional options for individuals, employee plus spouse, employee plus children, and family plans. All employees are eligible for participation in the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Account, PERA. Paid leave is accrued in accordance with District policies and afforded to all persons in accordance with Colorado law.
