Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Foreman/Arborist to lead our crew in tree trimming, removal, and spraying operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our employees and the public, while delivering exceptional results to our customers.
About the Role
As a Foreman/Arborist, you will:
- Lead a tight-knit crew and promote a positive team environment
- Interpret tree trimming, removal, and spraying orders from General Foreman or customer representatives
- Plan and layout daily work for your crew, considering time, equipment, and weather conditions
- Climb trees and operate a bucket for trimming and removals in and above power lines
- Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning, trimming, or removal of at-risk/damaged trees
- Prepare, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
- Remove limbs and brush, clean up, and dispose of debris
- Enforce on-the-job safety practices and safeguard employees and the public from hazards
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Two years or more experience working as a Trimmer/Climber, working around utility lines
- Ability to lead people, including strong communication skills
- Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques
- Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE
- Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, line equipment, etc.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more
- Capable of operating two-handed equipment and withstanding extreme climate variances
