Job Description Summary
The Aviation Dispatcher will be directly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Lewis University fleet. The proper sequencing of aircraft, personnel, aircraft scheduling, and resources is essential to maintaining the operational tempo of the Department of Aviation’s Fleet at Lewis University. This individual will oversee aircraft fueling, dispatching, and coordinating operations between Chief Pilot, Assistant Chief Pilots, Director of Safety, flight instructors, line personnel, part-time dispatchers, Services personnel, and students. The Aviation Dispatcher will report to the Department Chair or unit head.

Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies and respectful collaboration and active support the University’s mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
  • Coordinate scheduling with Chief and Assistant Chief Pilots
  • Oversee part-time Dispatchers
  • Oversee fueling operations
  • Facilitate line crew operations
  • Determine optimal dispatching sequence of resources
  • Coordinate with the Chief of Aircraft Services regarding fleet maintenance
  • Coordinate with the Director of Aviation Safety
  • Report directly to the Department Chair or unit head for Aviation
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or unit head
  • Must be innovative as a problem solver in order to improve fleet utilization efficiency


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Extensive experience in equipment scheduling and safety operations. Must be detail oriented and an innovative analytical thinker.


Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree
