Job Overview:
We are looking for a Vice President of Operations who is hands-on and has a deep understanding of offset printing operations and a proven track record in managing production teams. The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for overseeing daily production, optimizing operational efficiency, managing staff, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met at all stages of the printing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy: Lead the operations team by providing clear direction, coaching, and development to ensure all departments meet their objectives. Actively contribute to the development and execution of long-term operational strategies.
- Production Management: Oversee all aspects of printing production, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Quality Control: Monitor print quality standards to ensure all products meet client specifications and company standards. Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to cost targets.
- Profit Driven: Quarterly Profit Sharing is part of the benefits package.
- Staff Management: Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team of production personnel. Ensure that team members are properly trained, motivated, and aligned with the company's goals and values.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and smooth workflows from order inception to delivery.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvements and lead initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and streamline processes.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a management role within the offset printing industry.
- Profit Driven: Must be profit driven.
- Hands-On Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Strong experience in overseeing production schedules, quality control, and team management.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of offset printing processes, equipment, and technologies. Ability to troubleshoot issues and guide teams through technical challenges.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and clients.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and take initiative in a leadership role, driving performance and results.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Printing Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Familiarity with print management software and production scheduling systems
