Job Summary and Qualifications

As an EEG Technologist you would administer/perform routine, STAT and long-term monitoring for non-invasive diagnostic electroencephalograms. You would prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make any necessary adjustments.

Performs routine, sleep and portable EEG studies as well as cerebral death studies on adult, neonatal and pediatric patients according to the policies and procedures of the EEG lab.

Ensures quality patient care is provided within the defined area of accountability of doing EEG procedures.

Delivers outpatient/inpatient EEG tracing to the reading physician; maintains copy of all reports in files and on CD’S.

Actively participates in continuing education within the field of Neurology/EEG.

Serves as a liaison for EEG lab to promote physician, department and intra departmental relationships.

Assures all EEG reports are available for the physician to read on a daily basis.

Assures customer services to include; respect, courtesy, compassion and confidentiality.

Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE
Required - CPR
Preferred - Two years experience with pediatric and adult patients as EEG Technologist with completion of EEG Technology Program, Registered EEG technologist.

EDUCATION
Required - High School diploma.
Preferred - Graduate of EEG program with EEG certification and college credits with emphasis in maths and sciences.
