Position Overview: The Behavior Support/MTSS Teacher will work with students who have received discipline or MTSSreferrals; this will include analyzing student assets, goals, and barriers to engagement and utilizing arestorative approach to support re-entry into the classroom community. The Behavior Support/MTSSTeacher will work closely with the MTSS team (administration, counselors, and social workers) tofacilitate re-entry conferences after suspension, promote student voice, repair broken relationships, andensure student needs are met.Salary Range: $41,286.41 - $77,875.35 StipendLewiston Public Schools offers a robust employee benefits package for full-time employees, including: health insurance with up to 85% of the premium paid by the employer; dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts; Maine Public Employee, 403(b) and 457 retirement plans; 15 paid sick days per year; tuition reimbursement and more!Goals: Develop supportive and trusting relationships with high-need students and identify the specific issues impacting student engagement in school and academic performance.Develop opportunities for students to re-engage with their classroom community after disciplinary infractions.Design and implement plans to support students with social-emotional learning needs connected with behavior challenges.Role & Responsibilities: Work with MTSS team to respond to incoming MTSS referrals and assess appropriate response.Attend student support meetings and weekly MTSS team meetings.Collaborate with Assistant Principals around building systems and structures related to student discipline and Restorative Practices.Assist school in the creation/development/implementation of Tier 2 behavior data tracking systems, interventions, and data analysis..Develop, implement, and lead a restorative in-school suspension program for students in grades K-6.Communicate with each suspended students teachers on a daily basis to ensure that all students are provided with missing work.Collaborate with ed tech to provide suspended students with academic and SEL support during in-school suspension.Develop and implement a re-entry plan with each student prior to their exit from in-school suspension.Log behavioral information into student information system.Consistently monitor discipline data for the school and collaborate with administrative team to address identified needs.Provide modeling, consultation, coaching, and technical support to staff and students in facilitation of restorative practices, including Restorative Conferences, Peer Circles, Entry/Re-Entry Circles, and Peacemaking Circles (Conflict Resolution). This includes administration, staff, students, peers, etc.Assist in creating and facilitating restorative interventions/processes for students.Communicate with participants and appropriate staff regarding agreements or outcome of the restorative process.Follow up on all restorative meetings to ensure agreements are upheld.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in education.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Teaching CertificateSALARY RANGE$41,286.41-$77,875.35LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, businesscorrespondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond toquestions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, andfundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such asfractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situationswhere only limited standardization exists.
