What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Administrative Specialist position at Lewisville Independent School District?
Primary Purpose:
Serve as direct support to the Chief Executive Director of Special Education on administrative, legal, and staffing responsibilities. Interfaces with departments, campuses, and employees to provide seamless communication and oversight on time sensitive areas of responsibilities. Oversees the gathering of legal documents for Due Process Hearings and other areas of compliance. Efficiently maintains Special Education staffing records for leadership analysis and decision-making.
Minimum Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
5 years advanced secretarial experience; campus and administrative office experience preferred
Knowledge of Special Education processes and procedures
Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Promote positive interaction among staff, inter-departmental personnel, campus and department secretaries, and guests
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Communicate with administrators, staff, and legal department to coordinate collection of records for Special Ed litigation cases.
Coordinate record submission between district personnel and Special Education attorneys.
Monitor timelines for litigation cases and corrective action to ensure district compliance.
Track Special Education staffing district-wide and for the Department.
Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate record keeping of Special Education staff.
Process recommendations for new hires to the Special Education department.
Ensures that vacant positions are tracked accordingly.
Always maintain confidentiality.
Ability to multitask while maintaining a calm demeanor.
Maintain appropriate business hours, professional dress, language, behavior, and work area.
Demonstrate a high level of knowledge with technology to assist with system set up and issues.
Demonstrate flexibility and adapting to change.

Proficient in typing, computer, and word processing; programs may include but are not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, MUNIS, KRONOS, Skyward, Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations, and understanding overall Google Drive.

Pay: $227.29 - $284.11 per day
