Position: Project Estimator (Bilingual preferred)
Language: Spanish/English
Type: Direct Hire Position
Pay Rate: $25/HR or up (Depends on experience)
Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Proficient use of Xactimate™ estimating software.
- Understand contractual terms and conditions.
- Assemble estimates and proposals, ensuring they meet client requirements.
- Organize subcontractors' quotations.
- Draft budgets and schedules for project reviews.
- Meet with potential clients to generate sales.
- Interpret drawings and specifications.
- Experience and familiarity with the construction industry.
- Clear and fluent knowledge of computers and experience working with spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain pre-construction and construction estimates.
- Build estimates based on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing, and means and methods of a project.
- Act as a key collaborator for new and existing subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding, and project award.
- Prepare estimate presentations, special studies, budget control reports, and estimating documents for projects and client presentations.
- Understand market labor, commodity conditions, and impacts on construction costs.
- Conduct quantity take-offs, variance, and maintain quantity controls.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- 2 or more years of experience as an estimator.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, word processing programs, and Xactimate™ estimating software.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of construction documents.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Coordination and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills in both languages to effectively deal with clients and managers.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable transportation.
- Reliable, dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
- Ability to travel and work for long hours in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry.
- Maintain constant alertness to multiple concurrent activities of the construction site.
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Sufficient skill and visual acuity under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions.
