Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead our engineering operations in Dallas, TX. This role requires a dynamic leader with at least 15 years of experience in engineering design and management, with a Professional Engineering (PE) license and a background in mechanical or electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have a broad portfolio of project experience across multiple sectors and a proven ability to drive operational excellence, staffing and recruitment, budgeting, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Provide technical and operational leadership for engineering teams, ensuring high-quality project execution and alignment with company goals.
- Project Management: Oversee diverse engineering projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, infrastructure, and other sectors, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Staffing & Recruitment: Play a key role in hiring, training, and mentoring engineering talent to build a high-performing, collaborative team.
- Operations & Budgeting: Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and operational efficiencies to maximize profitability and project success.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners to drive business growth and ensure client satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects and teams adhere to industry codes, safety standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends, integrating best practices and emerging technologies into engineering processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, including project management and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of various building systems and project types.
- Experience with staffing, recruitment, budgeting, and operations.
