Our services include construction management, fabrication, erection, mechanical installation, and plant maintenance for heavy industrial, commercial, and roadway projects, as well as a full spectrum of golf course construction and management services.
Position Summary
The Helper is responsible for assisting craft workers in various duties and tasks on new construction or maintenance projects. This position is deemed safety sensitive due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee s co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the set up of equipment either by hand or machine.
- Load, transport, unload and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
- Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as needed.
- Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of journeyman s tools and equipment.
- Abide by the company Safety and QA/QC programs as well as OSHA rules and regulations.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent is required. Previous on the job training on a construction site required. Hand tools related to the specific tasks or craft is required.
Physical Demands
Must have ability to lift and carry 50 to 100 pounds frequently. Must be able to climb up and down ladders, stairs, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools/equipment. Must have ability to stand or walk for long periods. Must use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. Must have ability to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, loud noises, a dusty work environment, and be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
