Position Summary
The Sub-Fabrication Expeditor is responsible for ensuring all subcontractors are performing all work timely in accordance with project drawings, applicable industry practices, codes, and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure subcontractors are operating on schedule and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Travel to subcontractors to evaluate completion of work in comparison to the job schedule to determine potential delays.
- Determine the status of material transferred from our shop to the subcontractor to ensure there are no delays in production.
- Evaluate subcontractor progress to project whether deliveries will be timely.
- Ensure the work produced by subcontractors meets our company quality standards.
- Provide more efficient means and methods to expedite delivery of the steel and minimize quality and safety concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience in the fabrication/construction industry. Must be familiar with AISC and OSHA requirements. Must be familiar with proper Non-Destructive testing procedures and requirements. Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural drawings. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. Must be detail oriented. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
Physical Demands
Overnight travel is required. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires long periods of sitting. All the physical demands listed are essential functions.
