Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the bar, kitchen, and food preparation areas. They will follow TIPs training in serving alcoholic beverages to customers and adhere to safe food handling practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bar, kitchen, and food preparation areas
- Follow safe food handling practices at all times
- Work closely with the food and beverage supervisor and sales staff to service meeting rooms, events, and catering needs
- Practice safety throughout the work shift by removing hazards and correcting any issues identified
- Collect and clean dirty dishes and glasses during the shift
- Set up and break down bar and food service as needed
- Prepare food according to Lexima/Brand standards
- Be attentive at the bar and check with guests frequently
- Handle meeting room catering needs and restock necessary items during service hours
- Monitor food and bar inventories and maintain appropriate levels
- Comply with Lexima/Brand compliance standards and regulations
Work Environment
This position will be located at a hotel and primarily work in the kitchen or restaurant/bar area.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 50lbs
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to stand during the entire 8-hour shift
Education and Experience
- Food handling certificate in states or counties where required
- TIPs training preferred (Training will be provided)
- Previous bartending experience preferred
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Patience and customer-oriented approach
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Must be fluent in English
