Meadow Breeze Day Camp is looking to fill positions for our 8-week summer camp programs, grades Kindergarten to 11th grade. LCA is a grade 6-12 independent Christian school located in Lexington, MA. Since 1966, Meadow Breeze Day Camp at LCA has been offering an exceptional traditional day camp for kids of all ages.
Meadow Breeze offers a variety of camps such as a Day Camp, Sports Camps, Launch Trips and a Leaders-In-Training program. This position is for a Drama Instructor. As a Summer Camp Drama Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging environment that nurtures the creativity and self-expression of campers through drama and performing arts. This position requires a passion for drama, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire campers of various ages and skill levels.

Drama Instructor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum Development:
Design and develop age-appropriate drama curriculum and lesson plans for campers.
Create activities that enhance acting skills, improvisation, storytelling, and theatrical expression.
Instruction and Rehearsals:
Lead drama sessions, teaching acting techniques and encouraging campers to express themselves.
Organize and direct rehearsals for camp performances or presentations.
Script Selection:
Choose or develop scripts suitable for campers' age groups and interests.
Adapt scripts as needed to accommodate various skill levels.
Performance Coordination:
Coordinate and oversee the planning and execution of camper performances.
Organize costume and prop preparations for performances.
Skill Development:
Facilitate activities that develop acting skills, creativity, and confidence in campers.
Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help campers improve their performances.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other camp staff to integrate drama activities into the overall camp program.
Coordinate with fellow instructors to create interdisciplinary projects.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
Provide regular updates on drama activities, rehearsals, and upcoming performances.
Enthusiasm and Support:
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages campers to explore and appreciate drama.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to campers during the creative process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Background in drama, theater, or performing arts.
Previous experience in drama instruction or directing, preferably in a camp or educational setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with children and create a positive camp experience.
Enthusiasm for fostering creativity and self-expression through drama.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 yrs of age or older
Complete a CORI background check
Experience in working in a summer camp preferred; experience working with children is a must
CPR & First Aid certification (preferred)
Attend all training sessions
Ability to lift 30 lbs

DATES: June 23-August 15, 2025, Mon-Fri
TIME: Day camps run every week day from 8:00AM-3:30PM and AfterCamp runs every week day from 3:30PM-5:30PM
PAY: Seasonal; $15-$25/hr based on experience
SCHEDULE: Camp training & orientation is June 23rd-June 25th, 2025. Apart from our sports camps, camp staff are asked to work all 8 weeks of camp. There is no camp on July 4th. Camp staff need to arrive each day at 7:30AM and are expected to stay until 4:00PM.
Salary : $15 - $25
