Meadow Breeze Day Camp is looking to fill positions for our 8-week summer camp programs, grades Kindergarten to 11th grade. LCA is a grade 6-12 independent Christian school located in Lexington, MA. Since 1966, Meadow Breeze Day Camp at LCA has been offering an exceptional traditional day camp for kids of all ages.
Meadow Breeze offers a variety of camps such as a Day Camp, Sports Camps, Launch Trips and a Leaders-In-Training program. This position is for a STEM/Creatives Summer Camp Instructor. As a STEM/Creatives Summer Camp Instructor, you will be passionate about fostering creativity and sparking curiosity in young minds and help make science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects come alive through engaging activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum Development: Design and develop innovative lesson plans and hands-on activities that integrate STEM concepts with creative disciplines such as experiments, art, design, music, and storytelling.
Instruction: Lead daily classes, providing fun and creative demonstrations while encouraging campers to explore, experiment, and problem-solve independently and collaboratively.
Facilitation: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where campers feel supported and encouraged to take risks and express their ideas freely.
Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times and implement camp policies and procedures.
Project Support: Organize and oversee group projects, guiding campers through the entire process from demonstrations to hands-on-activities.
Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow instructors and camp staff to coordinate activities and create a cohesive camp experience for all participants.
Communication: Communicate regularly with camp leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (education, STEM, arts, etc.)
Previous experience working with children in a camp, classroom, or informal education setting
Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and principles, with a passion for making these subjects accessible and engaging for all learners
Creative mindset with experience in one or more artistic disciplines (e.g., visual arts, music, theater, creative writing)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with campers of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
Enthusiasm for collaboration and teamwork, as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 yrs of age or older
Complete a CORI background check
Experience in working in a summer camp preferred; experience working with children is a must
Have the appropriate certifications
CPR & First Aid certification (preferred)
Attend all training sessions
Ability to lift 30 lbs

DATES: June 23-August 15, 2025, Mon-Fri
TIME: Day camps run every week day from 8:00AM-3:30PM and AfterCamp runs every week day from 3:30PM-5:30PM
PAY: Seasonal; $15-$25/hr based on experience
SCHEDULE: Camp training & orientation is June 23rd-June 25th, 2025. Apart from our sports camps, camp staff are asked to work all 8 weeks of camp. There is no camp on July 4th. Camp staff need to arrive each day at 7:30AM and are expected to stay until 4:00PM.
Salary : $15 - $25
