We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team at Lexington City Schools, VA. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the School Division's financial records, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll procedures, and non-resident tuition services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the School Division's financial records using computerized accounting systems in accordance with District regulations, policies, and procedures
- Process payroll, ensure payroll balances prior to authorization to the City of Lexington for check printing
- Manage the School Division's accounts payable and accounts receivable, including entering all invoices, coding invoices to the appropriate department, and balancing payables
- Cordinate non-resident tuition services, including entering student contact information, depositing tuition payments, posting payments to non-resident student records, and managing communication to non-resident families
- Serve as the School Board Clerk, assisting with preparing information for all Board meetings, preparing reports, attending all Board meetings, taking minutes, updating database for Board members, and managing School Board registration and payment for conferences and trainings
- Communicate effectively with all staff and administrators, demonstrating good work habits, including punctual and regular attendance
