What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Med Dosimetrist( 3505) LEXINGTON CLINIC position at Lexington Clinic?
SUMMARY:
The Dosimetrist serves as a member of the radiation therapy treatment planning team; remains familiar with the physical and geometric characteristics of radiation producing equipment and radioactive sources commonly employed in the Radiation Therapy department; is
primarily responsible for patient treatment calculations, generation of radiation dose distributions and treatment chart quality assurance under the direction of the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training which will probably be indicated by a college degree or hospital-based training in dosimetry (nine months duration or longer); RTT with 12 months on-the-job training in dosimetry; one year post-training experience, including treatment set-up skills and quality assurance; ARRT licensure or eligibility, and/or AAMD or AAPM; excellent verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; maneuver equipment and materials weighing over 20 pounds; move and transport patients safely; manual dexterity; exposure to electrical, radiation, chemical, bio-hazardous materials; mobility; visual acuity.
