General Summary :
Under general supervision of the Director of Application Services, support various operational functions required for district support. This may include but may not be limited to full responsibility of the operation of staff and student IDs which includes ID badge design, printing, printer repair and maintenance, as well as documentation to support the overall operations of the District ID printing Systems and ID distribution. Manage inventory levels with regard to ID Printing supplies. Exhibit professional and friendly communication skills required to convey quality care and true concern for the urgency of outstanding ID and ID Printing issues.
Essential Functions :
- Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One.
- Effectively interacts, communicates, and collaborates with all stakeholders.
- Prioritizes repair of ID Printers and schedules repair service.
- Maintains inventory records for all ID Printing Supplies and equipment.
- Maintains necessary appropriate IT documentation for job function.
- Assists with User Provisioning, SIS functions, and / or Door lock database as assigned.
- Assists with the procurement, management and acquisition of District ID badge materials.
- Communicates with vendors and service companies as needed to maintain proper customer service in support of IT managed ID badge contracts.
- Answer Call Center / Helpdesk District technical support calls as needed.
- Create work orders as needed to address issues pertaining to job function.
- Assists in the management of the centralized ID printing processes.
- Assists with normal department operations regarding ordering, receiving, and inventorying.
- Participates in all professional meetings and training sessions as required.
- Selects, requests, and maintains an inventory of technology tools, equipment, and supplies needed for daily activities; provides for safe storage and proper use of all materials, tools, and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Education / Work Experience :
High school graduate with knowledge of help desk procedures, computers, and / or computer repair; a minimum of three years of experience in end user IT support; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge / Skills :
Knowledge of Google Suite applications. Ability to properly apply the policies, procedures, and activities of the school district which pertain to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Ability to adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and operations. Ability to complete daily activities in a safe and timely manner. Ability to interpret and act upon maintenance requests and work orders. Ability to provide effective troubleshooting and computer user assistance. Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in exercising duties. Ability to anticipate work to be completed and complete work without the need for direct supervision. Ability to maintain necessary records and information. Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and student records and information. Ability to interact and communicate in an effective manner with supervisor, co-workers, and the general public. Ability to learn new technologies as they are introduced into the district.
Working Conditions :
Duties are conducted primarily indoors with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Duties require occasional work with cabling and exposure to live electrical panels. Physical demands include routine lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds and occasional lifting / moving of items up to forty pounds. Routine local travel may be required; no overnight travel required. Job requires the operation of computers and related equipment.
Responsibility :
No direct budgetary or supervisory responsibility.
Evaluation :
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the school board’s policy on evaluation of support personnel.
