- Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One.
- Effectively interacts, communicates and collaborates with all stakeholders.
- Establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive working and learning environment.
- Works with teachers to plan, implement, and reflect upon lessons.
- Works with content-area teachers to implement specific, effective instructional strategies.
- Observes classes and engages teachers in reflection conferences.
- Identifies standards-based materials and other curriculum resources.
- Encourages and facilitates conversations among teachers about content and instructional practices.
- Facilitates ongoing collaboration among teachers to support common expectations and assessments.
- Employs effective consultant and coaching strategies based on research and best practices.
- Meets regularly with other district coaches, specialists, and administrators to plan ongoing professional learning opportunities for teachers.
- Observes lessons and provide teachers and administrators with specific, timely, and focused feedback regarding content, instruction, and/or assessment, as requested.
- Teaches demonstration lessons to facilitate implementation and continuous improvement in the use of effective instructional practices in classrooms.
- Assists teachers and interventionists in planning for the instruction and assessment of students not meeting expectations for learning.
- Coordinates and participates in the evaluation of program effectiveness through data collection and data analysis.
- Provides professional learning opportunities for teachers both during as after school as needed.
- Provides content workshops for individual teachers and/or groups of teachers, administrators, and parents, as needed.
- Assists teachers in planning for differentiation of instruction and/or assessment of students based on analysis of both observational and written data.
- Provides ongoing support for the effective implementation of content standards and the standards for mathematical practice.
- Participates in all professional meetings and training sessions as required.
- Selects, requests, and maintains an inventory of instructional aides, technology tools, equipment, and supplies needed for daily activities; provides for safe storage and proper use of all materials, tools, and equipment.
- Effectively uses personal technology devices and software applications for the management of pertinent information and communication.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education, mathematics, or middle level mathematics (as determined by the assigned grade level); previous student teaching experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification
