Lexington Home Brands is looking for an experienced Sample Builder/Pattern Maker in our Upholstery Operation in Hildebran, NC.
First Shift Hours: 7:00 am-3:30 pm Monday – Friday

Job Statement:
Work as part of our Product Development team during the physical development of new products for the Lexington Home Brands Upholstery Division. To be active in the process from receipt of approved design concept to finished product which will involve knowledge of frame construction, support foundation, cushioning and padding, upholstering, pattern placement, pattern making, cutting, sewing, and materials listing.
Essential Functions:
- Hands-on functions of upholstering insides and outsides of development samples.
- Fabricating inner body padding during the development stages.
- Filling seat cushions, back pillows, and throw pillows.
- Marking and cutting of mock-up upholstery covers.
- Some pattern making and pattern adjusting.
- Compilation of notes for our manufacturing departments to follow.
- Working with and answering questions from the manufacturing floor about new products.
- Troubleshooting issues that may arise during day-to-day operations.
- Using various hand tools and power tools.
- Upholstering actual showroom market samples.
- Occasional trips to our showroom in Thomasville, NC to help deluxe samples prior to the beginning of the Furniture Markets.
- Various tasks within the Product Development Department.
Job Specifications:
- Standing for the majority of the workday.
- Lifting and carrying fabric rolls for short distances.
- Lifting and moving upholstery frames.
- Walking to all areas of the building.
- Pushing shop carts to transport upholstery products and materials throughout the building.
Additional Knowledge and Skills:
- Prefer 5 or more years of hands-on upholstery experience.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to different situations.
- Can contribute to maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- AutoCAD and computer skills for compiling and storing manufacturing notes is a plus.
