Lexington ISD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Band Director to join our music department. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and manage all aspects of the middle school band program while assisting with the high school band program. We are looking for an individual who is committed to fostering a love of music, providing quality instruction, and ensuring a positive and productive environment for all students. Percussion specialist preferred but all applicants will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage and direct the middle school band program, including rehearsals, performances, and community events.
-Assist the high school band program in daily operations, including rehearsals, performances, and preparation for district and state
competitions.
-Develop and implement a balanced, engaging, and challenging curriculum for both middle school students.
-Provide individual and group instruction for all band sections, with a focus on improving musicianship and performance skills.
-Coordinate and facilitate all logistics related to rehearsals, performances, and travel for both middle and high school bands.
-Work closely with the band director to maintain the growth and development of the entire band program.
-Ensure the proper care and maintenance of band instruments and equipment.
-Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation, growth, and collaboration.
-Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding program updates, performances, and student progress.
-Assist with recruitment efforts and work to build the band program at all grade levels.
Salary : $47,000 - $68,000
