Job Summary
The Anesthesia Technician assists nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists in the main OR, OB, and other locations throughout the hospital where anesthesia services are provided. They are responsible for performing these duties under the supervision of the nurse anesthetist and anesthesiologist.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience : None
Substitutable Education & Experience : None
Required Certifications / Licensure : CPR Certification (or completion of course within one year)
Required Training : Basic computer skills
Essential Functions
- Checks all OR rooms daily prior to OR starts for cleanliness and availability of essential equipment.
- Cleans and checks anesthesia carts and machines daily, according to approved aseptic technique and equipment specifications.
Cleans and disinfects carts and anesthesia machines surfaces with approved disinfectants – should include dusting and cleaning drawer interiors and under monitors on top of the machines.
Maintains the workroom and supply area in a clean and organized manner.
Duties & Responsibilities
Cleans and maintains difficult airway carts in OR, including glidescopes and fiber optics.
