Job Description:
We seek an experienced Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a plastic surgery or dermatology setting and be proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR), particularly Nextech. This role is pivotal in ensuring adequate support for our clinical and operations staff and delivering exceptional patient care.
In addition to working as an MA, you will cover the reception desk during breaks and work some shifts in the call center.
Responsibilities:
- Assist plastic surgeons during consultations, examinations, and surgical procedures.
- Manage patient records using Nextech EMR, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in documentation.
- Provide detailed pre- and post-operative care instructions under the guidance of the surgeons.
- Schedule appointments, manage follow-ups, and coordinate patient care with other team members.
- Handle administrative duties, including billing, insurance processing, and medical supplies inventory management.
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and provide them with the information needed.
- Manage the front desk operations, including handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, and confirming upcoming visits.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
- Assist in managing patient flow to keep appointments running smoothly.
Requirements:
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further certification in Office Management is a plus.
- Proficiency in Nextech EMR systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Detail-oriented with robust organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of medical regulations and safety standards in a clinical setting.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to speak with prospective patients from the call center scheduling consults and follow up appointments.
Preferred Qualifications:
