JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Hours of work: Weekly office hours & responsibilities required | Evenings and weekend work in line with training, matchday, tournament/showcase requirements.
- Contractual Status: Full-time.
- Salary Range: Competitive – dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Location: Lexington, KY
- Reporting to: Technical Director and MLS Next or ECNL Director
JOB SUMMARY:
Supporting the delivery of LSC’s vibrant, creative, & progressive program. A player centered approach of working within the youth club program.
- Responsible to coach up 2 teams as determined by Technical Staff
- Point of contact for LSC teams within respective ages and gender.
- Work alongside the coaches to ensure proper placement of players on all teams within ages and gender
- Oversight of all black, grey, and white teams within ages and gender
- IDP/Functional Training
- Recruit to strengthen and grow teams within specified ages and gender
- Recruit teams to play in fall and spring events within age groups
- Plan and lead winter training for teams within ages and gender
- Available to be lead coach at LSC camps
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coaching
- Work alongside Technical Director to continue to develop and challenge detailed training sessions for boys or girls across the soccer club ensuring implementation of the club-wide philosophy, methodology, and principles of play.
- Develop and maintain a positive learning environment to maximize each player’s learning potential.
- Ensure all training sessions are delivered with a compliant approach to Health and Safety.
- Link all individual and team learning objectives to the Lexington Sporting Club philosophy.
Match Day
- Direct and maintain attention to individual and team performance within the match result.
- Emphasize individual and team learning objectives during pre-match, half time, and post-match team talks and player interaction.
- Exhibit touchline behavior according to the Lexington Sporting Club coaching philosophy.
- Link match day learning objectives to the Lexington Sporting Club coaching program.
Player Performance Reviews
- Prepare and conduct player performance reviews (end of fall and spring seasons) for each player within your agreed teams and assist all coaches within specified ages and gender on this task should they need assistance.
- Link player performance reviews to the target learning outcomes of the Lexington Sporting Club coaching program.
- Support staff in quality assurance of reviews.
Player Recruitment
- Prepare scouting plan to bring high-performing players
- Develop relationships in community to grow numbers
- Be present on sidelines of other LSC games within specified ages and gender.
Events/Camps
- Responsible for recruitment for events within specified ages and gender
- Coordinate friendly round robin weekends in conjunction with pro team home games
- Promote LSC camps internally and externally to grow brand and culture LSC is thriving for
- Available to work as lead coach at camps
General
- Attend all required meetings with ownership, leadership team, and technical directors.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise or be assigned by the Technical Director and/or senior management staff.
- Represent LSC at meetings/courses/seminars/study visits to gain up-to-date information and enhance good practice.
- Comply with all LSC club policies.
- Promote the LSC brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.

Preferred Qualifications
- USSF B License or higher
- Coaching Background preferred.
- Knowledge about youth soccer in the United States.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
- A positive attitude towards professional development and learning.
Preferred Knowledge/Experience & Skills
- Prior experience working in an elite youth club.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements.
- Ability to relocate to Lexington, KY.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other operating platforms.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to be able to manage numerous projects at once.
- Willingness to ask questions, give input, accept advice, and take direction.
- Creative problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Confidence in presenting plans and projections to senior management/ownership.
- Ability to build strong relationships with outside partners.
- Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
