About the Role
As a Manager Data Discovery and Enrichment, you will manage a team of Data Discovery and Enrichment Leads and Experts. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing all resource management within the DDE organization, including contract and full-time hiring and management of the hiring process. You’ll interact closely with your team, product managers, and development team members to set strategy and direction for your team. You will define best practices for creating training data and evaluating output of AI models. You will use your expertise in the legal domain, and that of the Leads and Experts on your team, to drive insights and recommendations to the business that are critical to creating the best features and products for our customers.
About the Data Discovery and Enrichment Organization
Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts are subject matter experts in the legal domain, playing a key role in leading the transformation of legal technology. They partner with data scientists, data engineers, and product managers to create cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions with legal data. Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts provide annotation, evaluation, and feedback to their partners which are critical to the development of these solutions. Responsibilities
Managing a team of Data Discovery and Enrichment Leads and Experts- Being the primary driver of Data Discovery and Enrichment projects and results
- Setting strategy and direction for the team
- Defining best practices in the creation and maintenance of training data and relevance evaluations
- Collaborating with internal partners across a variety of different roles
- Communicating complex information to diverse audiences
- Leading presentations for internal stakeholders
- Performing advanced legal research and analysis
- Advocating for Responsible AI
Requirements
Have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree- Have advanced professional legal experience
- Be competent in advanced legal research and writing
- Have moderate professional experience in one or more of the following areas: managing, coaching, and mentoring others
- Be a natural problem solver
- Have a customer-centric mindset
- Be able to manage highly complex projects
- Have an advanced understanding of machine learning and natural language processing technologies
- Have significant experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs
- Have in-depth knowledge or understanding of agile and lean methodologies
