About the Role
LexisNexis Reed Tech is looking for a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer II to be a part of a high performing Infrastructure Squad which includes Cloud Engineers and System Engineers that supports technology modernization squads in Govt IP division. This is a key role that is being created to help us modernize the way we are building and managing our infrastructure environment. As part of our Systems Engineering team, you will be to help create and support better IaaS and Automation processes to help us better create and maintain our infrastructure environment on Prem and in the Cloud. This will help us better empower our product development teams to rapidly deliver modern experiences that delight our customers. This position will play an important role in engineering our infrastructure to be robust, secure, resilient, and observable. Your driving principle will be to simplify operational excellence. This role also provides guidance and technical leadership to other team members, help mentor other team members, and remove blockers. You'll work towards accelerating customer-centric product innovation by ensuring we maintain and promote the use of secure, high-performing, and reliable platforms and shared services.

Responsibilities
Contribute to architectural decisions and the development of our infrastructureCollaborate with DevOps and Application support teams to improve system reliability and performance.Evolve our processes into a best-in-class, resilient environments to host our applications.Automate operational tasks, such as IaaS (Terraform) and other configuration management capabilities to implement changes on Prem and in the Cloud environment.Improve the workflow of our infrastructure environment by integrating our platform directly into product engineering teams CI / CD development environmentsGather and analyze metrics to support our data-driven engineering decisions.Help create a resilient environment that is streamlined to detect, diagnose and resolve issues to minimize impact on our users and the business.Ability to help manage Situations / OutageSuggest defects and product / infrastructure enhancements to improve stability and automationParticipate in on-call rotation to provide 24 / 7 support for production systems.Help monitor and make suggestions to improve operational efficiencies including labor, cloud costs and infrastructure usage.We are looking for an energetic and knowledgeable Sr. Site Reliability Engineerwith an entrepreneurial mind, who wants to grow their professional career! BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent additional experience3 years in Systems Engineering including experience with server configuration, monitoring, network design and high availability.Demonstrable knowledge of operating systems (like LINUX and Windows)Knowledge of DevOps concepts and best practicesExperience designing and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure including virtual, serverless, and containerized compute workloadsExperience working with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like TerraformGood knowledge of Cloud-native applications and how to support them in the cloud ecosystem.Knowledge of Containers like Docker & KubernetesProficiency in programming and scripting languages (i.e., Python, Groovy, Bash)Proven ability to support best practices for metrics gathering, monitoring and alarming.Ability to help automate the server provisioning process on Prem and in the cloud to reduce the labor of our engineering and data center operations team.Drive standardization efforts across multiple disciplines and servicesExcellent written and spoken English language skills with an ability to speak and clearlyOutstanding customer service skills and dedication to customer satisfactionExcellent documentation skillsProven ability to work independentlyAbility to work well in a team environmentComfortable with "crisis" situations that require critical thinking, problem definition and diagnosis skillsAbility to speak confidently with Developers, Engineers and ManagementPlus skills but not required
Advanced knowledge of agile software development methodologiesPassionate believer in codifying everything! (CloudFormation, Terraform, Helm)Authoring complex scripts or tools, with a focus on process automation, using a major scripting language such as Python or PowerShell.Role Based Access Controls (RBAC), Identity Access Management (IAM), Microsoft Directory Services (MS AD), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), and Federated Identity Management.Strong understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines and practical experience implementing it within a large projectWork in a way that works for you
