Lexus of Pembroke Pines is looking for Body Shop Technicians. We are growing and need a responsible individual who is going to help move production to a new level in our new and upcoming Auto Body department. We are seeking a dedicated individual who enjoys a fast paced environment and can deliver high quality work.
Essential Functions:
- Performs full teardown on vehicles for proper estimating
- Performs bodywork repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and surface preparation.
- Keeps into account of previous and newly released factory technical bulletins
- Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
- Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
- Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
- Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
- Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Provides complete and accurate explanations on the repair orders to describe the work that was performed.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Punches on and off of every repair order to reflect the amount of time spent on each job.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, etc.
- Maintains assigned work space in an organized and clean manner, participating in cleaning the group area on a daily basis before departing from work.
- Uses shop supplies and materials in a practical and economic manner.
- Handles all toxic chemicals and hazardous waste according to the dealership’s current policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as requested
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of internet software and order processing system.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record which shall be reviewed by Human Resources as needed.
- Automotive repair experience.
- Dealership experience preferred.
Job Requirements:
- Basic computer software and internet proficiency
- Organized, manages workload and time well
- Valid Drivers License
- Must pass criminal background check and drug test
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
