What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at LFP Associates?
Quality Engineer Automotive - Austin, TX - Must 3 to 10 years automotive that will develop and maintain quality systems according to standards and to assist customers with any issues.
Essential Functions :
- Participate in / Initiate cross functional teams in the pursuit of effective problem solving and mistake proofing quality problems.
- Travel and provide support to customers to resolve problems.
- Participate and Improve in product development meetings to review engineering changes, manufacturing methods, planning and process specifications related with product quality.
- Coordinate with customers, related with the quality performance trends and corrective action.
- Communicate production and quality issues with employees and supervision when necessary.
- Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ongoing testing of parts ( Functional, Dimensional, Physical properties, etc.)
- Create, update and maintain Quality Documentation, Customer Contact Reports, Customer Sort Reports, Information Relating to Concerns, Procedures, etc.
- Serve as a focal point of contact for internal and external customers.
- Develop visual standards, system criteria, for use in manufacturing operations in a new launch and maintain for serial life products.
- Plant Activities - Internal :
- ISO9001, IATF16949, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QOS, 8D Problem Solving experience.
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards. Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement instrument usage.
- Capable of performing Gage R&R, and Capability studies.
- APQP :
- Responsible for development and support of all APQP Documentation required for PPAP,etc.
- Responsible for development and support of all APQP Documentation required for PPAP, PSO ,etc.
- Responsible for the ECNs after SOP or programs in Production Phase.
- Prepare and submit APQP documentation.
- Support and work with Materials and Production departments to plan and perform Run@Rates
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Adherence to all company policies and prcedures (i.e. quality manual, associates handbooks, level II procedures, etc.)
- Perform other duties as requested by the Quality Manager and Corporate Quality
