LGEUS IPO (International Procurement Office) Team is looking for a Procurement Specialist to help LGE HQ procurement activities with suppliers in US. This person will lead sourcing new suppliers of mainly mechanical parts, Injection molding, Press/Sheet Metal, Raw materials, in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, and new cutting-edge technology for LGE current and future products.
This role will be based in Fort Worth, TX, working onsite 5 days a week. We are a small team of 3, including a team lead directly reporting to HQ.
The Procurement Specialist will assist the team lead to achieve the team goals and will provide mentoring and instruction to junior staff to do his/her required jobs or daily activities.
The team is looking for a candidate who is proactive, eager to learn, enjoys traveling to meet suppliers, and is relentless to achieve the goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the sourcing of new local suppliers of Mechanical Parts, Raw Materials, Circuit components in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery competitiveness
- Develop sourcing strategies to expand the sources of new suppliers for LGE's new business opportunities (EV Chargers, Robots, HVAC, HPWH etc.)
- Develop and release RFQs to new suppliers, reviews price quotes, and delivers samples to HQ.
- Introduce new technology companies to LGE HQ for LGE future products.
- Manage and resolve difficult procurement/purchasing issues with suppliers such as deliveries and shortages.
- Lead discussions with HQ procurement team to resolve complex Procurement/Purchasing/SCM issues in North America including areas such as price negotiation, supply disruption, new supplier registration etc.
- Provide on-site support to HQ employees traveling to suppliers on business trips.
- Conduct market research, perform detailed analysis and create executive reports on major semi-conductor suppliers, service providers, automotive manufacturers and consumer electronics related to LGE business through various channels including media. Research and reporting areas are industry news and market trends, trading company reports, automotive and consumer electronics latest trends including acquisitions, investments, blackouts, government policies and regulations to impact on LGE.
- Provide mentoring to a junior level Procurement Specialist.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual skills in Korean and English required. Spanish speaking preferred.
- 3 years or more experience working at a mechanical products company or consumer electronics/industrial products company.
- Experience in procurement / purchasing / sourcing of Mechanical components ( Injection Molding, Die-Casting, Press/Sheet Metal) or Raw Materials (Steel, Resin) or Circuit Components (PCBA, Cables, Modules) for consumer electronics/ IT devices/ Industrial products such as TV, Automotive, Home Appliances, Robots, EV Chargers, HVAC, HPWH etc.
- Frequent business trips required to support LGE HQ teams business trips to suppliers.
PREFERENCES:
- Bachelor's degree majoring in mechanical engineering or related field preferred
