Summary
Manage and/or lead in-house and work with outside legal counsels to minimize risks in the North America region and its subsidiaries (US, CI, AI, TN). Manage product liability litigation and advise on product safety. Provide legal services on compliance and regulatory issues to internal clients and respond to governmental inquiries on safety and regulatory matters to further business goals and minimize risks.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to internal clients on product safety and regulatory compliance
- Conduct fact investigation, review product, and regulation analysis to advise business units of legal risks and its mitigation plan
- Provide support on US/Canada government agency actions, investigations, or inquiries before agencies such as DOE, NRCan, EPA, FDA, FCC, CPSC, Health Canada, etc.
- Coordinate litigation case management with insurance companies and relevant internal clients
- Communicate with business units and manage outside counsel
- Conduct legal analysis to advise on product compliance, marketing, internal policy, and product safety, as needed
- Regulatory research and assess application to product
- Advise and support company's strategy in identifying environmental related goals
Qualifications
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school with 2-4 years combined legal experience preferred; litigation experience preferred
- Position of Counsel or Senior Counsel to-be-determined in accordance to experience
- Must be currently licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey or eligible to practice in New Jersey as in-house counsel
- English and Korean language proficiency required
- Strong legal research and document drafting skills
- Able to attend meetings as scheduled in different time zones
- Able to travel domestically
