Summary
The EH&S waste handlers are tasked daily with a number of responsibilities ranging from picking up the recycling throughout every area in the entire building, processing damaged cells, handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and preparing them to be shipped out so that the material meets RCRA and DOT standards.
Responsibilities:
- Unload and distribute supplies for waste material
- Collect and sort waste materials from various production areas
- Weigh and record collected materials as required
- Collect and sort recycling from all break rooms, office areas, and production areas
- Load hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials onto trailers that are contracted to haul waste materials to the correct destination.
- Collect solvent waste from designated areas around the facility
- Collect hazardous waste materials from the QA safety building, and label, weigh, record and store materials in the Hazmat building
- Collect all filled biohazard containers throughout the entire building and supply new containers
- Process breached and Non-breached cells from production areas, warranty lab and QA
- Operate pallet jack and forklift to move waste containers
- Follow PPE requirements

Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Follow LGESMI existing cleaning SOP’s during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required;
- Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience
- 1 year of forklift experience
Skills
- MS Office Suite
- Communication skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills

- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals with or without the use of a calculator
- Ability to read and interpret graphs and measurements
