Position Overview
LG Vertech is seeking a Senior OT Network Engineer to help design, plan and implement the network forLGES Vertech integrated SCADA systems and products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and design LG Vertech production and SCADA network infrastructure, including routers, switches and firewalls to support the smooth functioning of LG Vertech’s industrial operations.
- Work with LGES systems engineering to design cost effective, scalable network designs and solutions for LG SCADA integrated products.
- Configure and optimize network devices to ensure seamless communication and data transfer between SCADA components and other network systems.
- Monitor, Identify and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct regular network troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime and efficient communication between SCADA systems.
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches. Monitor network security and respond to incidents promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations and processes to facilitate troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct regular network assessments, performance evaluations, and system audits to maintain the highest standards of reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with LGES Corporate, third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure the integration of their products and solutions into LGES Vertech SCADA network architecture.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in SCADA network design and implementation.
- Provide training and technical guidance to technical support teams as needed.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, SNMP, Modbus, DNP3, and Ethernet/IP, as well as familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
- Proficiency and working knowledge in configuring and managing Routers, Switches and firewalls especially Cisco, MOXA and Aruba.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably with a focus on SCADA systems.
- Hands-on experience with network security practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, Remote access VPN, IPSEC L2L.
- Strong working knowledge of ICS network security monitoring tools particularly around network visibility, vulnerability management and asset management
- Demonstrate clear technical cybersecurity and programmatic understanding of security best practices preferably NERC CIP.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Communication Skills: Clear communication skills to collaborate with corporate management, team members and customers and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively. ·
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, SCADA-specific certifications, and cybersecurity certifications are a plus. ·
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work seamlessly in cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site deployments, maintenance, and collaboration with remote teams.
Education and Experience
Required:
- A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other concentrations combined with direct on-the-job training.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience directly related to the development, implementation, and ongoing management of ethernet network and cybersecurity designs preferably for large industrial equipment, solar or BESS plants, electric utilities, or other critical infrastructure.
