Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while maintaining high standards of quality.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize HeavyBid software to create detailed estimates and track project costs effectively.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions, gather data, and evaluate potential challenges that may impact costs.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Monitor ongoing project expenses and implement cost control measures to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth communication throughout the estimating process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations is beneficial.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear reporting and collaboration with team members.
