Job Description
This position will be responsible for leading and managing the Procurement function across the Diagnostics and Genomics Business Unit. The position will be responsible for strategic procurement activities across the Business Unit (BU) and for supporting tactical site procurement teams to ensure that the divisions business objectives are met. The position will work closely with all levels of the organization both within the BU, as well as coordinating with Group Functions, including Group Procurement and Finance.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to capably perform each of the following functions:
- Setting strategy and objectives for the procurement function.
- Setting strategy and objectives for the procurement function.
- Driving procurement excellence programs, including:
- Standardizing and streamlining processes
- Identifying and accomplishing savings opportunities while maintaining quality, compliance, and service levels within the Supply Chain
- Establishing, monitoring, and improving procurement Key Performance Indicators to supervise the health of the business
- Ownership of supplier negotiation, supplier agreements & contract management, including supplier risk management (in collaboration with SQM for Quality aspects of supplier risk management)
- Supporting tactical site procurement teams, and ensuring adherence to group and BU procurement policy and procedure.
- Establishing and leading category management across the BU, and responsibility and/or support for assigned group level category management
- Perform other duties as the need arises, or assigned by management, to meet business needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field.
- Minimum of 7 years in a procurement management role
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software procurement modules
- Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a matrixed interpersonal structure
- Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent
- APICS or similar certification
- Experience with IFS or SAP ERP systems
- Life Science, Medical Device, or Biotech experience
- Experience in a regulated environment (eg ISO13485) with knowledge of related GMP/QA/RA requirements
- Professional licenses/certifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
