Job Description
The Director, Global Marketing position is responsible for charting the course and navigating the marketing function for the Diagnostic & Genomics (D&G) Business Unit through its next phase of growth. This position will manage a team of resources that is distributed globally and will be directly responsible for financial delivery and budget management activities of the team. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of “best-in-class” marketing strategies and tactics that support the business’ product and service offering. This position has direct oversight of activities across marketing functions including - channel management to include digital marketing, eCommerce and support of direct sales; business analytics; positioning and brand management; facilitation of thought leadership and internal and external communications. This position ensures that budgets, timelines and performance objectives are met.
The D&G Business Unit serves the Biochemistry, Molecular, and Next Generation Sequencing Diagnostics, Pharma and Biotech, and Applied Genomics sectors by providing a broad portfolio of components, quality measurement tools, and workflow solutions in both catalogue and custom OEM offerings. This role requires a commercially minded, customer centric, digitally experienced marketing professional with a demonstrated track record in the delivery of portfolio campaign strategy, execution and demonstrated success measures using analytically rigorous, fact-based marketing metrics.
The candidate must possess strong business acumen and be able to lead and influence individuals and teams across multiple functions of the organization, while driving results through teamwork and collaboration.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Develop marketing strategies and execute against those plans to support the achievement of sales and profit goals (achieve current year plan whilst looking forward to long range objectives).
- Develop, optimize, and execute a digital strategy across lead generation and transactional eCommerce that reflects the portfolio breadth and technical complexity, as well as the distinct customer segments and end-markets that our portfolio serves.
- Drive best in class automated marketing platforms and approaches.
- Organize, recruit, develop, and retain talent to ensure a high performing Marketing organization while strengthening marketing competency across the business.
- Champion the Voice of the Customer to develop and maintain proprietary insights into market, end-user, and behavioral segmentation to optimize targeted marketing and portfolio positioning.
- Develop fact-based metrics and marketing dashboards to objectively assess return on marketing spend.
- Develop and sustain a robust business and portfolio brand and brand positioning strategy for D&G products across the target sectors.
- Identify, qualify and manage external supplier relationships in support of marketing strategies where appropriate. This includes various marketing agencies as well as industry relevant organizations.
- Collaborate with regional Commercial and Product Management teams to build coordinated Sales and Marketing strategies for each region.
- Support and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders in collaboration with product managers and leadership team members.
- Develop, manage and optimize marketing spend to approved budgets.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a science-based discipline, preferably chemistry
- 10 years of marketing leadership or related experience, ideally in Life Science Tools or related market
- Proficient in strategic planning, budgeting, market research, brand management, messaging, and positioning of product value propositions.
- Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- MBA
