What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Staff Accountant position at LGE Design Build?
Position Overview
The Senior Staff Accountant role is responsible for all non-project day-to-day and month end close accounting functions for LGE Design Build. This includes having the ability to effectively communicate accounting related matters with both internal and external partners quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Function of Position
Responsible for LGE Design Build accounting functions includes:
- Responsible for oversight and ensuring accurate accounts payable, cash disbursements, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation are completed accurately and timely.
- Manage and process all overhead transactions across various LGE entities ensuring accuracy and timely payment
- Track, reconcile, process and control company credit cards & expense reports to ensure adherence to company policy
- Own month end bank reconciliations across several accounts in line with monthly close calendar
- Assist in managing all design and construction cash received, payments made, and trackers updated to provide cash insight to larger team
- Assist field operating teams in managing fleet vehicle registration, licensing and insurance
- Review consultant & vendor agreements, research, and resolve billing and budget discrepancies.
- Drive process improvements to maximize efficiency in both standard operating procedures and systems.
- Ensure that full-service accounting for LGE Design Build including and not limited to billing, accounts payable, credit card and expense reports are being held to the highest standard.
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis on an as needed basis
Required Attributes:
- Proactive, team player, positive attitude, and willing to go the extra mile.
- A minimum of 3 years accounting experience, construction industry background and job costing experience a plus.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, and Premier Construction experience a plus.
- Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Decision Making: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.

Reporting
This position will report directly to the Controller.
Evaluation
An annual review by the firm principal, peers, and related company staff will be used as part of the evaluation. The above functions of the position will be used as a basis of the review. Evidence of your demonstration in company values, functional assistance with the team in needed areas, client-rapport and your individual goals will also undergo evaluation.
