Data Modeler - Fulltime role

Location : Tallahassee, FL

5 day onsite role

Job Summary :

The client seeks an experienced Data Modeler to support data management, transformation, and business intelligence initiatives. The candidate will facilitate requirements analysis, design logical and physical data models, develop ETL processes, and ensure compliance with state government security standards. The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, adherence to IT processes, and support for end-users.

Qualifications & Experience :

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications :

5 years of experience in :

Data modeling, data management, transformation, metadata, and reference data management.
Business intelligence tools in medium to large complex environments.
Advanced SQL Server technologies (SQL Server 2008 and above).
Developing OLTP and OLAP databases.
Data warehousing / business intelligence technologies.
Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services.
SDLC support tools and techniques.
Dimensional Modeling techniques (data cubes, star schema, snowflake schema).

2 years of experience in :

XML, HL7, Schematron, JSON, and XPath development.

Medical data standards (ICD10 / SNOMED / RxNorm).

Developing reports using SAS / SPSS.

Key Responsibilities :

The Data Modeler will perform the following tasks as directed by the Department :

Data Analysis & Modeling :

Conduct and facilitate requirements analysis and data modeling sessions.

Document requirements for linking critical datasets and improving data access, queries, and reporting.

Design, create, and maintain logical and physical data models.

Develop and submit entity relationship diagrams and metadata.

ETL & Data Processing :

Design and implement ETL processes for efficient data transformation.

Create and modify ETL workflows to support business intelligence and analytics.

Develop and optimize physical dimensional models for data cubes.

Perform testing and validation on databases, ETLs, and data cubes.

Reporting & Business Intelligence :

Develop and maintain reports, ad hoc reports, and dashboards to support decision-making.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business requirements.

Technical Supervision & User Support :

Supervise technical team members as assigned.

Provide technical and procedural support for end-users.

Communicate with project teams and stakeholders regarding project activities and deliverables.

Compliance & Documentation :

Ensure compliance with Department IT standards and security policies.

Submit status reports, detailing tasks completed and hours worked.

Adhere to data security and confidentiality procedures as outlined by the Department.

Follow established IT processes and coordinate with Department IT staff.

Data Security & Confidentiality :

The contractor, including employees, subcontractors, and agents, must adhere to all Department data security procedures and policies while performing the duties outlined in this scope of work. Compliance with the Data Security and Confidentiality document attached to the purchase order is mandatory.
