What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Facility Mechanic I position at LGSTX?
What you will do:
The Property/Facility Mechanic I is responsible for a variety of facility related issues and improvements - performs manual labor and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of facilities and grounds, which include but are not limited to light construction and repair of electrical, mechanical, basic masonry, carpentry; performing preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on properties/facilities and electrical. Regularly inspects property for safety and security issues; practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; work independently without reliance on others for instruction and guidance; assists in electrical servicing of all buildings located at Air Park; perform grounds maintenance and ensure all necessary areas are mowed and trimmed to provide a pleasant appearance; conducts snow plowing, shoveling, and salting of all parking lots and sidewalks to all facilities; applies pesticides and herbicides utilizing proper protective equipment using non-licensed chemical applications and assists other areas as needed.
What you need:
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- Ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
- Valid Driver’s License
- Verifiable seven (7) to ten (10) years of property/facility maintenance experience
- Knowledge of the standard principles, methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building structures, machinery, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment fixtures
- Solid understanding of OSHA plus Federal and State regulations
- Leadership qualities
- Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
- Perform work at heights
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with high and low voltage up to and including 480 volt, 3 phase
- Two (2) years maintaining airport lighting systems, pavement and grounds
- Class B CDL License
- Experience in conducting equipment inventories
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Advanced technical training and certifications are highly desired
