We are seeking a Residential Treatment Center (RTC) EMT to join our facility focused on the treatment of teens with varying mental health disorders. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working in a 24-hour care facility and will be able to communicate effectively with patients and other medical professionals. The RTC medical staff is a vital part of our team, so we're looking for someone with experience and training in managing clients with mental health concerns in an RTC setting. We have both full and part-time opportunities, but weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities :
- Apply basic medical care to patients, perform primary first aid and determine a need for physician notification.
- Supports clients during admission processes. This may include checking in client belongings and acclimating the client to the program and milieu.
- Facilitate communication between medical professionals, family, and patients.
- Ensures all medical orders are carried out and any information about clients and their wellbeing is promptly and clearly communicated to physician / psychiatrist and in treatment team meetings.
- Gather daily vital signs.
- Assist clients with medication intake as prescribed.
- Assist with meals, dishes, and bathroom observations.
- Document patient information.
- Communicate with patients in a warm and professional manner.
- Convey a positive attitude toward patients, families, and co-workers.
