Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented End-of-Fiscal-Year Revenue Manager to support our finance team during the crucial end-of-fiscal-year closing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue management, financial reporting, and data analysis, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This temporary role will involve overseeing the reconciliation, analysis, and reporting of revenue to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Recognition & Reconciliation:
- Oversee the revenue recognition process for the fiscal year-end, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
- Review and reconcile accounts related to revenue, including deferred revenue and accruals, to ensure accuracy before the fiscal year closes.
- Ensure all revenue transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review revenue-related reports for internal stakeholders, including financial statements and management reports.
- Assist in the preparation of the year-end financial statements, focusing on the accuracy of revenue figures.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in revenue data to ensure timely reporting.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the accounting, sales, and operations teams to gather relevant data for revenue recognition and analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management on how to improve revenue recognition processes.
- Assist with audits, both internal and external, by providing necessary documentation related to revenue.
Forecasting & Budgeting Support:
- Assist in revenue forecasting and budgeting activities, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and projections.
- Support management in preparing and analyzing revenue projections for the next fiscal year.
Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies or issues in revenue management processes and suggest improvements to streamline workflows.
- Help implement or optimize revenue management software/tools.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in revenue management, accounting, or finance, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Experience with fiscal year-end processes, closing procedures, and financial reporting is required.
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles (e.g., ASC 606).
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
