LHB has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy & Industry Team in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices!

- Providing mechanical engineering design for a variety of Piping Systems Design projects. Potential projects could be from a variety of markets, including oil & gas, pulp & paper, mining & heavy manufacturing, and power & distribution.
- Working in a collaborative, team atmosphere to prepare project construction drawings and specifications.
- Attending and participating in various meetings with external clients throughout the course of the project life cycle.
- Completing and/or reviewing design calculations, system analysis & equipment selection.
- Assisting with project reporting requirements and documentation.
- Providing oversight and guidance to junior engineers and drafters on project designs.
- Performing field verifications and organizing acquired field data
- Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed.
- 4 years of previous employment in engineering design
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
- Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and analysis software such as Ceasar II and/ or AFT Fathom
- Experience using AutoCAD or Revit
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Must be willing to travel intermittently
- Familiarity with hazardous liquid, gas, process, and power piping systems
- This position’s anticipated base salary range is $80,000 – $105,000 annually. This position is eligible for year end and profit-sharing bonuses. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
