Responsibilities
Bereavement Volunteer Responsibilities
Interact with family in a caring and compassionate manner; assist with arrangements after death; participate in agency memorial services or activities; provide education on end-of-life issues.
Patient Care Volunteer Responsibilities
Record accurate, legible, timely, and objective documentation of each patient/family encounter; schedule regular visits with patient/family as designated in the Plan of Care; provide respite care for family; attend IDG for updating of Plan of Care as appropriate; communicate any changes or observations to assigned supervisor and Administrator.
Administrative Volunteer Responsibilities
Complete all assignments in a timely manner; paperwork should be neat, thorough, and legible.
Qualifications
A mature, non-judgmental, caring, people-oriented individual who is supportive of the hospice concept of care. Must complete Volunteer Training Program. Experience working with people and willing to serve others.

Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to the hospice program and/or patient/family according to designated activities.
- Contribute to the Plan of care and Interdisciplinary Group meetings as applicable.
- Accurately document services provided as trained and instructed by the hospice agency.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Communicate changes in the patient's status or observations to assigned supervisor and/or Administrator.
- Attend at least four (4) in-services per year.
- Participate in community outreach projects for the agency.
