Responsibilities:
- To perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving/enhancing the patient's well-being, following the established plan of care.
- To follow all state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, and to only perform procedures that you are qualified and trained to do.
- To instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
- To observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
- To coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate, and to instruct patients, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in areas of therapy within your scope.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure, registration, or certification to assist in the practice of physical therapy in your state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
