Summary
The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for performing detailed analysis of the Company’s OASIS data and its use in the appropriate calculation of patient acuity weight, outcomes of care , and Value Based Purchasing metrics . They must be able to communicate effectively, while influencing and motivating company personnel who do not directly report to the Quality Assurance Coordinator. Supports the company’s OASIS training and development objectives through assessment, mentoring, and coaching.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Division VPs, their management teams, Quality Review Department, other home office personnel, and agencies to regularly measure and improve OASIS data accuracy.
- Audits Quality Review team’s work to identify areas of opportunity and provides applicable training and mentorship. Audits agencies as needed based on data or direction.
- Actively participates in development of action plans related to OASIS data collection accuracy, including monitoring the plan of execution, progress, or lack thereof. Analyzes OASIS data to identify opportunities to create and deliver education/training to OASIS clinicians, agencies, and Quality Review team members, regionally and/or companywide.
- Serves as the OASIS Subject Matter Expert and actively participates in development and implementation of training, including IMPACT items for other service lines.
- Demonstrates exceptional presentation and group facilitation skills for improved OASIS data accuracy.
- Assesses learner achievements and reports on key indicators of OASIS knowledge.
- Independently stays current on all OASIS guidance/version changes, discusses implications with the Quality Assurance Manager, and completes required education timely. This includes maintaining their OASIS credentials.
- Monitors and responds to ask.OASIS@lhcgroup.com mailbox questions using the current OASIS guidance.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Education and Experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist
- OASIS Certification (COS-C, COQS, and/or HCS-O) within 90 days of hire
- Minimum of 5 years Home Health experience, 2 of which dedicated to OASIS data review, analysis, and employee development in the application of OASIS guidelines
- Prefer minimum of 2 years supervisory or leadership experience
Skill Requirements
- Ability to work alongside other management personnel to recommend and identify specific plans of action geared toward improved OASIS data accuracy, coupled with the ability to influence other personnel to produce increased accuracy
- Ability to analyze OASIS data at a high level, and to accurately interpret and apply current OASIS, Conditions of Participation, and all CMS guidelines to identify opportunities for improvement. Improvements may involve the development of patient specific plans of care, appropriateness of acuity, and/or outcomes of care
- Exceptional presentation and group facilitation skills
- Superior analytical skills and be able to organize and present data in a meaningful format operational leader can utilize to make informed decisions
- Ability to organize workload to provide reliable follow through and meet timelines/deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills with proven ability to use MS Office applications as well as OASIS review software, clinical documentation software, as well as reports available in these programs and others
