Job Title : Accounting Manager
Location : North Sacramento, CA
Growing commercial subcontractor with a strong presence in Northern California is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee a small team, manage the financial operations, and oversee project accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting, WIP, and be an approachable, hands-on leader. This is a newly created position and is open due to growth.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee and provide leadership to the accounting team, working closely with the CFO.
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
Supervise general ledger accounting with at least 2 direct reports.
Develop and mentor staff, providing guidance and answering questions as needed.
Review the work of other staff members for accuracy.
Assist with the management of the annual audit and preparation of audit schedules.
Streamline communication between the office and field teams, ensuring accurate financial data exchange.
Conduct financial analysis to understand relationships between numbers and relay insights to the team.
Create and present financial data for review at monthly meetings.
Design and implement policies and procedures in collaboration with the CFO.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification and / or public accounting experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
Strong knowledge of WIP, financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger accounting.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation :
Competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $140,000, based on experience and qualifications.
