LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire and Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract (temporary, 40 hours per week) opportunity in Roseville, California. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors and suppliers. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. Ideally, you will have experience in accounts payable processes and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.
PLEASE NOTE: All duties for this role are performed at the client’s main office in Roseville, California.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, and data entry.
Review and match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and issue payments to vendors and suppliers via checks, ACH, or other methods as required.
Reconcile accounts payable ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Address and resolve discrepancies, including invoice discrepancies and vendor queries, in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and ensure proper documentation is retained.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and account reconciliations.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to purchase orders, invoices, and payments.
Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting regulations.
Support the preparation of reports related to accounts payable, including expense reports and cash flow projections.
DESIRED SKILLS, BACKGROUND, & QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
