Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buyer to join our retail manufacturing company in Concord, CA. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the procurement of materials, products, and supplies to ensure that production and sales demands are met. This role requires strong negotiation skills, excellent vendor relationship management, and a thorough understanding of inventory control and supply chain processes. The Buyer will work closely with internal teams such as production, inventory, and sales to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and procure raw materials, products, and services in alignment with the company's production and sales needs.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Monitor market trends and conduct cost analyses to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality materials.
Manage purchase orders from creation to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in meeting production deadlines.
Collaborate with inventory control and production teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
Conduct regular vendor evaluations, including performance reviews and risk assessments.
Track and report on key procurement metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and delivery times.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and government regulations regarding procurement activities.
Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or invoicing.
Analyze historical purchasing data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records in the company???s ERP or purchasing systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within a retail or manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable contracts and terms.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
Knowledge of retail industry trends, manufacturing processes, and supply chain principles.
Experience with inventory management and forecasting is a plus.

Pay Details: $80.00 to $90.00 per year
