A leading municipality is seeking a highly skilled City Traffic Engineer to join their Public Works Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic within the city. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traffic engineering and a passion for improving urban transportation systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage the Traffic Services Division, overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of traffic signals, street lighting, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
Act as a liaison with local, regional, and state transportation authorities to coordinate and execute traffic-related projects.
Supervise and participate in traffic studies, data analysis, and response to public inquiries and complaints.
Develop and administer the division's budget, goals, and work plans, ensuring compliance with city policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in transportation engineering, civil engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in civil engineering, public administration, or business is preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Kansas or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
A minimum of ten years of experience in transportation or traffic engineering
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Location : Overland Park, KS - Onsite
Salary : $119 - 150K (some flex)
Pay Details : $119,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
