Position Title : Accounting Analyst, Fixed Asset
Location : Orlando FL 32837
Job Overview : This individual will lead the team responsible for these functions, seek process improvements, and ensure their execution. Additionally, this individual will act as the Fixed Asset team liaison, ensuring all internal departments are knowledgeable about the Capitalization policy. The position also provides ad hoc analysis and information to support the Brands and the Company's strategic decisions.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Analyze and become a subject matter expert of the company's Capitalization Policy over Tangible Fixed Assets.
- Lead and direct the activities of the fixed asset staff, including direct supervision of team members.
- Assist and advise staff on resolving issues related to recording assets, documentation, and capitalization policy requirements.
- Review team member journal entries for compliance with the capitalization policy and accuracy, and determine if process adjustments are needed.
- Assist in quarterly and annual reviews / audits with internal and external auditors.
- Serve as the Fixed Asset department liaison for other Darden functions, addressing questions and issues timely, conducting trainings, and ensuring proper execution of purchases.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP in assigned accounting areas.
- Support the company's month-end close process, including journal entry preparation and monthly account reconciliations.
- Execute internal controls related to assigned responsibilities and processes to ensure effective internal control over financial reporting.
- Assist with special projects impacting assigned responsibilities, such as system implementations, research projects, procedural changes, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Provide ad hoc accounting / analysis to other functional areas.
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls.
- Select top-quality talent to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Develop team members through training, development, and performance management discussions.
