- NET API Developer (Contract to Hire)
Work Location : Hybrid schedule, 3 days on-site in Downtown San Diego
Job Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated .NET API Developer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing robust APIs using the .NET stack, optimizing SQL queries, and working with Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on data engineering projects, specifically building an API layer on top of a data platform.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain APIs using .NET 6 or above.
Optimize SQL queries and manage SQL servers with high volumes of data.
Utilize Azure services, including Azure SQL servers, Azure Functions, and Azure API Management.
Contribute to active feature development and build projects from the ground up.
Collaborate with a team of developers, QA personnel, and a project manager in an agile environment.
Use tools like Postman and Swagger for API development and testing.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Propose and implement effective solutions to technical problems.
Rapidly learn new languages and technologies to adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
Required Skills and Experience :
Proficient in C# with at least 3 years of experience in developing APIs.
Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL and query optimization.
Experience with .NET 6 or above.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL servers, Azure Functions, and Azure API Management.
Familiarity with tools like Postman and Swagger.
Proficient in using Git for source control.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose effective solutions.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive projects forward.
Basic knowledge of database design.
Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new languages and technologies.
Education :
Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical / science field, or equivalent work experience and technical training.
Deal Breakers :
Inability to optimize SQL queries or understand SQL workings.
Limited .NET experience confined to maintaining existing products.
Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge and experience with other major cloud platforms.
Experience in handling high-volume data and / or data warehouses.
Team Composition and Agile Methodology :
Work within a team comprising a project lead developer, two other developers, three QA personnel, and a project manager.
Follow agile sprinting with two-week sprints and quarterly releases.
Interview Process :
Initial phone interview to gauge basic skills.
Panel interview with technical and hands-on exercises to assess problem-solving abilities and coding skills.
Degree and Experience :
A degree is not mandatory, but candidates without a degree should have more experience to compensate.
At least three years of experience with the required technologies is preferred.
Compensation : $45-50 / hr (position would move to $105k annually upon conversion)
