LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Buyer to join our client’s team in Youngstown, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in the steel industry, demonstrating a strong track record of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage procurement activities, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Sourcing : Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the company's steel procurement needs.
Supplier Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards.
Contract Negotiation : Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best terms and conditions for the company.
Cost Optimization : Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
Inventory Management : Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to ensure a seamless supply chain.
Market Analysis : Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging technologies in the steel industry.
Compliance : Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Reporting : Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 7 years of buying experience in the steel industry.
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
Skills :
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Travel : Willingness to travel locally up to 25% of the time.
